Lt. Gov. Scott Angelle will discuss the potential impact of the deepwater drilling moratorium at the Acadiana Regional Alliance's general meeting Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette.

Angelle was secretary of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources before accepting an interim appointment to lieutenant governor, making him uniquely qualified to discuss the repercussions of the six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling for the state's and Acadiana's economies.

The ARA is a coalition of organizations representing businesses in south Louisiana.

Pre-registration is required for the event, and a $20 fee will be collected at the door to cover costs. Cash and checks will be accepted. RSVP by 10 a.m. Wednesday by emailing [email protected] or calling 337-364-1836.
