Roughly a dozen candidates faced questions on the opening night of interviews. Because CPC Chairman Jay Castille wants each candidate to face the council without foreknowledge of the questions, only the interviewee was allowed in the council chamber during his or her interview. A monitor escorted candidates in and out of the chamber between each 15-minute interview. And for that reason we won't reveal the questions, except to note they were fairly standard questions regarding Lafayette Parish government and the political and economic conditions that serve as a backdrop for the formation of a charter commission.

The interviews continue Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the council chamber and are open to the public.
