Update: TS Bonnie is expected to have a minimal impact on Acadiana as the storm tacks toward New Orleans. But there is the issue of that oil spill directly in its path.
Gov. Bobby Jindal on Thursday declared a state of emergency as a tropical depression in the Caribbean was upgraded to Tropical Storm Bonnie. According to the latest projections, Bonnie will skirt across the Florida peninsula and make a bee line for New Orleans, taking it directly over the BP spill site.
