Parish Brewing Co makes its first foray into the local beer market this weekend. Parish Brewing Co makes its first foray into the local beer market this weekend. The local brewery, which has been in the works for over a year, is releasing two beers, Canebrake (made with local sugar cane) and Biere Amber, to be available on tap at select locations in Lafayette beginning Friday, July 23. Brewmaster Andrew Godley says Parish will be available at The Green Room downtown, Bugersmith and The Tap Room in River Ranch, and Young's Sports Grill in Broussard.

Godley will also be at The Green Room tonight for a special "tapping" event at 6 p.m., where he will pass out free samples and discuss the beer with attendees. The coming out party continues tomorrow night at the annual Gulf Brew craft beer festival, where Godley will be among several craft brewers promoting their wares.
