With tensions running high and the aftermath of the BP oil spill uncertain, Gulf fisherman are debating whether seafood from the area is indeed safe to eat. With tensions running high and the aftermath of the BP oil spill uncertain, Gulf fisherman are debating whether seafood from the area is indeed safe to eat. It is a heated debate with one side more than ready to get back to their regular routines of fishing and selling their catch to seafood distributors, while the other is composed of fishermen urging caution in the quick return to the Gulf, taking into consideration the possible ill effects of oil and dispersants on sea life.
