**MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE
**Donating to a good cause never tasted so good. Abita Beer has created SOS - A Charitable Pilsner, to help the state recovery from the BP oil spill. SOS is an unfiltered Weizen Pils with a brilliant gold color that melds the sweet malt flavor with a nice hoppy note. For every bottle sold, Abita will donate 75 cents to the rescue and restoration of the environment, industry and individuals fighting to survive the oil spill. In addition, related retail merchandise (hats, T-shirts, lapel pins, decals and car magnets) will be sold and 100 percent of the net proceeds will also go to the SOS Fund. Check out the whole SOS line and blog at http://sos.abita.com. The beer can also be found locally wherever Abita beer is sold, $4 for a big, 1-pint, six ounce bottle. - Mary Tutwiler

**BITTER SWEET
**Creative juggernaut Kody Chamberlain comes blasting out of the gates yet again with another extremely badass creative endeavor, his latest graphic comic book SWEETS. This dude never stops! The first in a series of five comics, SWEETS is a dark portrait of a hard-grizzled New Orleans detective searching for a spree killer in the days preceding Hurricane Katrina. His task is to bring the killer to justice before the city and evidence are washed away. It's a gritty, Southern-noir tour through the underworld with a pinch of Raymond Chandler and Dashell Hammet meeting Jim Thompson in the sunken streets of America's favorite city in which to forget the past. The first issue hit stands on July 14. Issue #2 comes out Aug. 18. Buy it at Acadiana Comics. www.kodychamberlain.com - Dege Legg

**JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED
**Dr. John has gone through several permutations throughout his musical career, from early New Orleans party anthems to the soulful funk of 1974's Destitively Bonnaroo to more recent work fueled by post-Katrina angst and frustration. Recorded at the legendary Dockside Studio in Maurice, his new release, Tribal, is a return to form of sorts, with the good doctor offering a more mellowed-out, positive vibe from the opening track, "Feel Good Music." The Lower 911 backing band keeps a steady groove throughout, as Dr. John serves up songs by Louisiana legends Alvin Batiste and the late Bobby Charles, as well as making room for slide guitar specialist and Allman Brothers Band member Derek TrucksĀ  on "Manoovas." Tribal is available locally at all major music retailers or for download through iTunes for $9.99. - Nathan Stubbs
