The buyer is planning minor renovations to the property, which will continue to operate as a Hilton Garden Inn. The 153-room hotel, which opened in 2006, leases property at UL's Research Park.
Apple REIT Nine is part of the Apple Real Estate Investment Trust Companies, based in Richmond, Va. A REIT is a company that owns and typically operates income-producing real estate such as hotels, apartments, shopping centers, offices and warehouses. Some REITs also engage in financing real estate.
