The board's president, Keith Guice of Monroe, cited "improving student and school performance, improving the high school graduation rate and other gains" as the basis of the evaluation following the 90-minute, closed-door session, according to The Advocate. A confidentiality clause in Pastorek's contract allows him to keep details of the evaluation confidential - a clause the state super exercised on Wednesday.
The Advocate also reports that Pastorek, for the second year in a row, declined the 6-percent raise to which he is entitled. He currently earns about $377,000 annually in base salary and housing- and car allowances. Read more here.
