East Baton Rouge Parish is taking a different tack than some Acadiana municipalities when it comes to the nagging issue of sagging pants. East Baton Rouge Parish is taking a different tack than some Acadiana municipalities when it comes to the nagging issue of sagging pants. Baton Rouge's Metro Council is helping launch a "low pants, no chance" awareness campaign that seeks to get local business' and other destinations to require patrons to pull their pants up. The campaign is modeled after the popular "no shoes, no shirt, no service" slogan that many businesses have successfully employed. In Acadiana, the towns of Delcambre and Jeanerette have passed ordinances that allow police to ticket and fine residents sporting low-riding pants; three men were recently sentenced to community service in Jeanerette for violating the saggy pants ordinance. The Baton Rogue council is hopeful its public awareness campaign will have the same effect as a legal prohibition. Watch the WBRZ story below.
