Guests gathered at the Wine Loft in River Ranch to welcome Oncologics Inc.'s newest radiation oncologist, Dr. Angela H. Wortham. A New Orleans native, Wortham just arrived in Lafayette after completing her residency at the State University of New York in Brooklyn. Her escort was Rameses Sroufe of Washington, D.C. During the reception, guests noshed on the superb appetizers created by Wine Loft's General Manager Russ Romero, including Beef Wellington over brie in puff pastry and scallops en brochette. Greeting the new doc were members of the Cajun Invasion dragon boat racing team Delores Blair and Nancy Duhon, along with M. Maitland DeLand, Mark Ackal, Jeanette Alcon, Carol McManus, and Drs. Alan Appley, Reatha Williams and Kelly Cahill.
Daynese and Randy Haynie's antebellum home was the site for the welcoming party honoring AT&T Louisiana's new president, Sonia Perez. Hosting the event were Linda and Clay Allen, Donna Byrne, Greg and Donna Davis, Bill and Ann Fenstermaker, Manny and Lucinda Gonzales, Gregg and Alisa Gothreaux, Ryan Haynie and Richard and Elaine Zuschlag. Perez looked stunning in an elegant gold-flecked suit as she visited with Lafayette's movers and shakers. While guests flocked to meet the former Texan and share some Cajun hospitality, servers from Imonelli passed around Kir Royals, champagne, wine and delicious appetizers, including phyllo dough-wrapped asparagus, meat pies and fried catfish bites. Following Perez's gracious welcome speech, the crowd enjoyed beautifully presented mini éclairs, cannoli and fruit tarts. Attending the first-rate reception were City-Parish President Joey Durel, Sen. Mike and Monique Michot, Jan and John Swift, Mark Mouton and Councilman Sam Doré.
