There's really good news from the National Audubon Society about the health of Louisiana's brown pelican population. Not only are there lots of healthy birds, but many of them are young pelicans.

"More than half of the brown pelicans I saw were birds born this year," Thomas Bancroft, Audubon's chief scientist, told the Associated Press. "I had not expected that."
