Neither Allied Waste nor The Recycling Foundation will run its regular collection routes on Thanksgiving day. Allied Waste will collect garbage and yard waste from its regular Thursday customers on the following day, Friday Nov. 26. Regular Friday customers will have their trash collected on Saturday, Nov. 27.
Allied Waste will also be collecting excess garbage - bagged garbage outside of the 96-gallon carts - on a customer's first service day after Thanksgiving. This will be Friday, Nov. 26 and Sat. Nov. 27 for regular Thursday and Friday customers, and Monday, Nov. 29 through Wed, Dec. 1, for regular Monday through Wednesday customers. The excess collection is intended for garbage generated from holiday celebrations. All excess garbage must be bagged, and individual bags cannot weigh more than 35 pounds.
The Recycling Foundation will resume its pickups next week.
