Medicine Show 11

The Medicine Show announces it's line-up and new venue.

Nearing full-time, institutional status as a local cultural touchstone, the organizers behind the annual, music fundraiser known as The Medicine Show has announced the date, venue, and line-up of this year's 11th show. The big news is this year's change of venue. For all previous shows, the event was held at Grant Street Dancehall, but this year the Medicine Show moves into its new digs at Acadiana Center for the Arts Performance Theater. 200 general admission seats will be available and the event will showcase the theater's (now known as the James Devin Moncus Theater) "large dance floor" configuration for the first time.

The annual fundraiser dance and concert will take place on Dec. 18 at AcA and feature music from The Louisiana Purchase Bluegrass Band, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet and The UL Lafayette Wind Ensemble, Feufollet, and Sonny Landreth. That's pretty hefty line-up. Lot of entertainment for your fundraising entertainment dollar. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show is at 8 p.m.

Advance tickets are $15 and available now at AcadianaCenterfortheArts.org, the AcA box office and by calling (337) 233-7060. The entire evening of music will be broadcast live on KRVS 88.7 FM and simulcast worldwide via krvs.org. As with all previous Medicine Shows, the proceeds benefit The Dr. Tommy Comeaux Memorial Endowed Fund for Traditional Music at UL.
