Clifton Chenier, Dr. John receive hall of fame honors

Along with this year's local Grammy nominees for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album, the King of Zydeco, Clifton Chenier, will also be honored at the 2011 Grammys, as his classic 1976 album, "Bogalusa Boogie" will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Along with this year's local Grammy nominees for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album, the King of Zydeco, Clifton Chenier, will also be honored at the 2011 Grammys, as his classic 1976 album, Bogalusa Boogie will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Chenier recorded the album at Studio In The Country in Bogalusa with his Red Hot Louisiana Band featuring his brother, Cleveland Chenier, on rubboard, John Hart on tenor sax, Paul Senegal on guitar, Joe Brouchet on bass and Robert Peter on drums.

Another Louisiana great is enjoying his own hall of fame honor this week, as it was announced that New Orleans' Dr. John will be among the 2011 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 14. Watch Dr. John talk about the honor in this interview with Fox 8 New Orleans.
