Coldwell Banker Pelican Real Estate gave away more than $10,000 at a Nov. 9 event at the Petroleum Club. As part of an exclusive, annual marketing campaign known as the Pelican 10-K, agents who sold listings in the program were placed in a drawing for a grand prize of $10,000. Open to every agent in Acadiana, the 10-K gives sellers the option of contributing $250 at closing, thus deeming their home a "10-K listing." Selling associates who close on these homes become one of 65 agents eligible to win a $10,000 prize; 22 Acadiana real estate firms were represented.
Jane and Kenneth Blanchard's resplendent River Ranch home was the scene of the United Way of Acadiana's Annual Spirit of Giving Celebration. Nearly 100 Leadership Givers and guests attended the elegant holiday fête. Bailey's catered the extravaganza with a stellar menu, including crab cakes, lobster bisque, meat pies and an assortment of desserts.
The Cajundome's beautifully remodeled Mardi Gras Ballroom was the scene for the holiday Business After Hours sponsored by the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. Gilbert Decourt served up an incredible tableau, including a whole cochon du lait, mini lamb chops, skewered tomato and mozzarella caprese with fresh basil, soft shell crab with madras risotto and a Nutcracker-embellished land of sweets. Guests sipped on red strawberry daiquiris, green frozen margaritas, beer and wine while making business connections at the festive event.
