The River Ranch home of Katharine Favaloro was the setting Dec. 17 for the annual Bonco Group Christmas Party. Approximately 60 friends and family members attended the extravaganza, and guests were entertained by local guitarist Charlie Rees. Cathy Savant's famous Lemon Drop Martini was by far Party Girl's favorite beverage.
Soul Express Brass Band marched from Thomas Park up the driveway of the Coen residence to bring in Chere Coen's 50th birthday. As a surprised Chere looked on, the band blasted into the Coens' living room while friends followed in a second-line shaking white handkerchiefs to the soulful beat. Once inside, Soul Express belted out several Mardi Gras tunes infused with a little Earth, Wind & Fire and a soulful rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Chere, who blogged that it was the best birthday party she had ever had. Kudos to husband Bruce for pulling off the surprise and landing such a fantastic brass band from right here in Acadiana.
Absinthe was flowing at Pamplona Tapas Bar for Matt Fontenot's 30th birthday celebration. The young lawyer toasted with family and friends at the bar while guests noshed on mac-n-cheese gouda with pancetta. Afterwards, the gang went dancing at Trynd Ristorante and Boutique Lounge until the wee hours. Attending the festive gathering were Matt's parents, Barbara and David Fontenot, Mandy Simon, Barbie Olinde, Monroe Stephenson, Melissa Bonin and the be-dimpled Justin Mueller. Happy Birthday, Matthew!
