CPC to vote on final redistricting plan

by Walter Pierce

The plan is an amended version of redistricting plan No. 5, which the council adopted during an introductory vote two weeks ago.

The Lafayette City-Parish Council will decide during a special meeting Monday evening whether to accept a revised redistricting plan. The plan is an amended version of redistricting plan No. 5, which the council adopted during an introductory vote two weeks ago. The council learned this past Thursday that a "computer glitch" had resulted in a misappropriation of precincts; the result of that glitch was that District 7 was under the charter-mandated threshold of having at least 60 percent of its residents within the city of Lafayette. District 7, represented by Don Bertrand, is one of the five Lafayette Public Utility Authority districts - the "city council" within the CPC that is in charge of voting on matters related to city-owned Lafayette Utilities System.

The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. in the council auditorium.
