Crouchstock educates and encourages

by Anna Purdy

Would that fundraising would always have this much fun and food!

One day a year there is a fundraiser for the non-profit Jacob Crouch Foundation. It is named in honor of Acadiana local Jacob Crouch who, a few days away from college graduation in 2005, took his own life. All the proceeds from Crouchstock go to furthering education about suicide and finding preventive measures. This program is exclusive to Acadiana and all money raised stays in this area.

Crouchstock this year is held Saturday, May 7 at Parc International. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

This year the headliner is Ronnie Milsap. Jaryd Lane and the band Mageez are special guests. Milsap has won Country Music Awards, Grammys and Billboard awards and his hits include "I Wouldn't Have Missed It for the World" and "Smoky Mountain Rain," among many others

Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at injacobsmemory.org or at any Home Bank in the area. Food and beverages will be on sale. If you want to volunteer with the foundation or ask about sponsership opportunities, go to injacobsmemory.org.
