We may not be the French Riviera but we can have our own film festival highlighting Louisiana.
With all the filmmaking and televisions series being shot in Louisiana from north to south it is both inevitable and enjoyable that we would have an annual film festival. The Acadiana Center for the Arts is hosting its 1st Annual Local Filmmakers Showcase starting tonight in its James D. Moncus Theatre. All films being shown have a Louisiana native hand in their production, whether that is in writing the screenplay, direction, editing or other. Those with strong local ties were also considered.
Here is the line-up. All showings are free to the public and all take place in the Moncus Theatre. Filmmakers will be on hand for discussion and the AcA Cafe, run by The French Press, will be serving beverages and food.
