Office-seeking workshop set for Monday

Special points of interest will be races this fall in Lafayette Parish as well as elections for the state House and Senate.

Calling all political candidates: The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, along with the Acadian Home Builders and REALTOR Association of Acadiana, will host a workshop detailing how to campaign for political office.

The Political Campaigning 101 Workshop will feature presentations by Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court Louis Perret and Baton Rouge political consultant Jimmy Burland. Kathleen Allen of the Louisiana Ethics Administration will also detail state campaign-finance laws. Special points of interest will be races this fall in Lafayette Parish as well as elections for the state House and Senate.

The free event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 13 at the South Regional Library.
