"My legal knowledge, work experience, and family values enable me to bring fairness and compassion to the bench."
Lafayette attorney Marshall Montgomery announced Wednesday evening that he will be a candidate in the Oct. 22 election for the 15th Judical District Division M family court seat vacated by Phyllis Keaty.
Montgomery is a lifelong Lafayette resident and graduate of Lafayette High School and then-U.S.L. He has been practicing law in Lafayette for two decades and cites membership on the boards of several civic organizations and coaching youth sports as indicative of his community involvement.
"My real life experiences include working in the oil field during college, opening my private law practice, and being a husband and a father," Montgomery says in a press release touting his candidacy. "I know what it means to work hard, sacrifice for family, and earn a living. My legal knowledge, work experience, and family values enable me to bring fairness and compassion to the bench."
