Baton Rouge Republican state Rep. Hunter Greene is the latest lawmaker to confirm he's in the race for speaker of the House, a field that includes Lafayette's Joel Robideaux, an independent who is currently speaker pro tem.
According to Baton Rouge's Daily Report, Greene says he quietly campaigned for the spot among lawmakers during the recent legislative session. Another Baton Rouge Republican, Rep. Erich Ponti, is also in the running, as is Rep. Chuck Kleckley, R-Lake Charles, and Rep. Jeff Arnold, D-Algiers.
