Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise will play host to a conference Tuesday about using social networking to further your business.
Located at 537 Cajundome Blvd., LITE - otherwise known as "that one awesome crazy looking building by the Cajundome" - is playing host to the first leg of The Destructo Tour. This is a social media conference hitting Lafayette, then Baton Rouge and New Orleans in three consecutive days. Each night will feature a panel of local business people who have made a name for themselves primarily using the Internet as a means of promoting themselves and reaching their audience.
The conference is hosted by Amber Osborne, a.k.a. "Miss Destructo," who is the social media voice for Bruce's Yams in New Iberia. Also on tonight's panel is Orhan McMillan, founder of dezinsinteractive.com; Jay Ducote of biteandbooze.com; and Victor Canada, who developed LSU's Social Media Certificate Program for its Professional Development Department. These panelists will talk about the hows and whys of social media marketing and how in each of their very different businesses they made it work for them.
Ticket price is $40 for one night of the three or $100 flat for each night in each city. Ticket sales go to benefit non-profits local to each community each night. Go here for more details.
