Covingto****n-based artist Marcia Holmes came to Breaux Bridge's Rue du Pont Galerie to celebrate her award from the International Association of Pastel Societies. Holmes was bestowed with the Master Circle Award for her painting, "Shady Day Water Lilies." A native of Laurel, Miss., the Southern belle oozed charm and grace as she showed off her stunning 24-karat gold-dipped medallion to awestruck gallery patrons. A few lucky collectors even managed to score some of Holmes' gorgeous paintings to take home. Rue du Pont owner and artist Lue Svendson prepared a delicious spread for the special show.

Patrons "poured" in for the soft opening of POUR wine bistro located in River Ranch's Town Square. Guests were giddy as they dispensed tastes, half or full glasses from a diverse selection of 48 wines. Chef Jude Tauzin of Village Café created the exquisite menu of fabulous cheeses, tasty paninis and unique salads to accompany the vino (there are also fantastic beers for non-wine drinkers). Party Girl absolutely loved the "Lust" red, Sanford Chardonnay and goat cheese with walnuts and honey. Divine! You simply have got to try this hot spot for oenophiles and novices alike.
