Starting Sept. 12 UL's Bayou Bijou Film Series begins again in the Student Union.

The film series is dedicated to bringing films never before screened in Lafayette. Many are foreign or independent features and are typically more provocative fare than the usual visual meal at our standard cineplexes, though whether they are more filling is up to the viewer.

Tickets are either $20 for the whole season, $3 at the door for the general public or $2 for students and faculty of UL. Movies are shown twice on Mondays, once at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

We've included links to the movies' official sites or good reviews. Plenty are winners at Cannes or the Oscars.
