OM hosting social media ‘TuneUp' session

by Leslie Turk

The Opportunity Machine's September session will help participants develop and evaluate a social media plan.

The Opportunity Machine will host the second in its series of TuneUp sessions on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from noon to 2 p.m at The Switch downtown. The Switch is located at 100 Central St.

In the two-hour seminar, Brian Bille, president of Kinetic Marketing, will help participants develop a social media plan and give them the tools to evaluate the results of those efforts.

"People need to understand that there are a lot of myths about social media that simply aren't the case," says Bille. "What people need to know is how to create an actionable social media plan tailored to their business, and how to measure the results of that plan."

OM is a business accelerator designed for technology-focused start-ups looking to grow their businesses.

The first part of the seminar will be a presentation on social media best practices. The second part will be a 45-minute interactive review of attendees' social media efforts (such as a company Facebook page), where Bille will give them suggestions on how they can improve their effectiveness.

Lunch will not be provided; however, participants may bring a lunch. Attendance is free and open to the public.

The OM plans to hold TuneUp sessions each month on a variety of topics ranging from intellectual property to marketing and PR.
