Downtown Alive! has T.K. Hulin

by Anna Purdy

T.K. Hulin plays for tomorrow night's Downtown Alive! in Parc International.

Downtown Alive! is happening Friday in downtown Lafayette. This is an outdoor event and we do post if it is ever cancelled the second Downtown Development Authority sends a carrier pigeon our way, but tomorrow the forecast reads a high of 88 and a low of 66 with a chance of sore feet and beer breath.

BikeLafayette will be hosting a bike corral for anyone who bikes to DTA. It is free but tips are appreciated as they go back to this nonprofit whose goal it is to educate the public about how awesome it is to have a bicycle. The bike corral is like a valet. The volunteers watch over your bike and make sure it doesn't get lonely waiting for you.

T.K. Hulin has been playing and working the Louisiana music circuit for several decades, playing locally and also exporting the distinctive regional sound that has made us famous. Check him out at his website.

As always, this is a smoke-free and pet-free event. Downtown Alive! is always free and is supported by the attendance of the community and any food and drink purchases you make there.

Writer's note: Earlier it was posted that Steve Riley was playing tomorrow night. Apparently sinus infections get into the eyes and make people unable to read correctly -- apologies all around, especially to Downtown Development Authority who works so hard to get the press releases out correctly. Next week Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys are scheduled to perform.
