The Louisiana Secretary of State's Elections Compliance Unit is warning state residents about what it's characterizing as a fraudulent voter-registration website that claims it can register voters in any state. It's unclear if the fraudulent site - RegisterToVote.org - is a scam, but Secretary of State Tom Schedler tells Shreveport TV station KSLA, "The website is hosted in another country, and is currently being investigated by the Attorney General's Office. I ask all citizens to be aware of this issue, not only to protect the integrity of our elections system in Louisiana, but also to protect their own confidential information."

Louisiana residents can indeed register to vote on-line through the SOS office here.

Early voting for the Oct. 22 election runs from Oct. 8-15.
