As business decision-makers across Acadiana enter that all-important fourth quarter planning cycle for next year, ABiz magazine presents the 8th annual Entrée to Business Luncheon, featuring Dr. Loren Scott and his economic forecast for Louisiana and Acadiana in 2012 and 2013. The popular professor emeritus of economics at LSU is known for interpreting complex data into useful, accessible numbers, and delivers his report each fall as an ABiz exclusive. His analysis and projections provide local business leaders with valuable information as they adopt budgets and strategies for the upcoming year.

The event, which is nearly sold-out, is presented each year by Dwight Andrus Insurance and MidSouth Bank. Andrus CEO Dwight Andrus III says their company knows first-hand the importance of Scott's numbers. "Year after year, Dr. Scott's insight on Acadiana's economy has been of great value in projecting business trends for the upcoming year," he says. "We know how it helps us, our clients and hopefully all businesses across Acadiana to make solid decisions. As a locally owned company, Dwight Andrus Insurance remains committed to providing the best tools available to promote local commerce."

MidSouth Bank's first vice president of commercial lending, Kevin Latiolais agrees. "Having insight into the direction the local economy is heading is critical for us to help our clients understand what the environment might look like so they can plan accordingly," Latiolais says.

"In particular, we like that Scott's model is supplemented with actual interviews with local executives, who share with him what they see down the road for their industries and any expansions they have planned," says Troy Cloutier, MidSouth Bank's chief banking officer.

The Acadiana Economic Development Council, comprised of economic development pros in Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, Iberia, Vermilion and Acadia parishes, is a supporting sponsor. Each luncheon attendee will receive a complimentary CD of Scott's full LEO report as well as his Acadiana-specific PowerPoint presentation, produced by Vidox Motion Imagery.

The luncheon is slated for Friday, Oct. 7, at noon at The Cajundome Convention Center. This event is a sell-out each year, and ticket sales are brisk. Individual tickets are $50 per person or $450 for a reserved table of eight. For information or to order tickets, contact Robin Hebert via email at [email protected] or by phone: 769-8603.
