Louisiana proud Abita Brewing Company is celebrating 25 years in the beer business.

What began as a small brewery producing 1,500 barrels a year in 1986 has evolved into a brew institution that brews more than 130,000 barrels of beer a year and is sold in 46 states and Puerto Rico.

Abita is marking this memorable milestone with a new brew for its many fans. The 25th anniversary Vanilla Double Dog is described by Abita as a "robust dark ale that has flavors of chocolate, toffee and vanilla. It is brewed with generous amounts of pale, caramel and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. Whole natural vanilla beans are added during the aging process. "

One taste of the new brew offers your palate a nostalgic resemblance of Guiness, only richer and more filling.
The new anniversary brew is in addition to Abita's seven flagship beers sold year-round: Abita Amber, Golden, Light, Turbodog, Purple Haze, Jockamo I.P.A. and Restoration Pale Ale, as well as its seasonal harvests like Satsuma and Strawberry that remind us when fall and spring festival seasons abound in South Louisiana.
Vanilla Double Dog is being sold at most downtown bars, and also can be purchased at most grocery and/or liquor stores in town.
