Collectors of artist Wayne Ditch's work are being asked to loan it to the AcA for a retrospective that will open during the December ArtWalk.
Ditch passed away in New Orleans Nov. 27 after a battle with cancer. His death surprised many in the art community as most didn't even know he was sick. "He wanted to keep working. He didn't want to be pitied," says Robin Hebert.
Hebert is development director of special projects here at The Independent and she was also one of Ditch's closest friends. She is planning this retrospective for next weekend to coincide with ArtWalk and she needs our help:
"In honor of our special friend, the Acadiana Center for the Arts would like to have a memorial art show Dec. 10 during ArtWalk - a retrospective of his life's work. It's a last 'ditch' effort to show the world what a great artist he was. This is what he wanted me to do. Please contact me if you have one of his pieces that you would loan the AcA for a month.
