NEW ORLEANS San Diego State cut into UL's margin late in the third quarter, but the Ragin' Cajuns still hold a 19-17 lead over the Aztecs entering the final quarter of the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

SDSU made it a one-score game with 3:40 left in the period when quarterback Ryan Lindley hit Colin Lockett with a 16-yard scoring pass, the second time the two had hooked up for a score in the quarter.

UL drove with the ensuing kickoff down to the Aztec 42, which is where they will have possession to start the fourth period.

Official attendance for the bowl was announced after the third quarter. The 42,841 was a New Orleans Bowl record, topping the previous mark by over 12,000.
