Gautier-to-Lawson once again gives Cajuns nine-point fourth-quarter lead in New Orleans Bowl.
Game Update: Cajuns 26, Aztecs 17
NEW ORLEANS UL quarterback Blaine Gautier and wide receiver Javone Lawson linked up for the second time in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, and because of that pair the Ragin' Cajuns built a 26-17 lead over San Diego State with 12:48 remaining.
Gautier hit Lawson with an 11-yard strike just before being tackled, with Lawson cutting into the end zone on a crossing pattern for his second score of the evening. The two had linked on an 18-yard score in the first quarter.
Gautier is now 18-of-30 for 335 yards and the two scores, while Lawson has five catches for 119 yards and the two TD.
