Vermilionville Performance Center has Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie. Delafose and his band are a foot-stompin' staple of south Louisiana and have been for many years. Delafose is the son of famed zydeco accordion player John Delafose. Tickets are $35. Call 233-4077 for details. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.

Artmosphere presents Vagabond Swing and Dimestore Troubadours. Word is that the dancer Kali from the Storyville Starlettes has been added to the bill. Show begins around 10 p.m. with Artmosphere's doors opening much earlier. Full kitchen closes when the bar does. Vagabond and Dimestore both have a ragtime, sleazy fun feel, like the weird old guy at the bar who does magic tricks, only you can dance to it without being stepped on. Really fun.

The Elephant Room over on Kaliste Saloom has the tin-pan-alley-meets-metal band The Howdies for your listening pleasure. Gorgeous Art Deco-esque bar boasts a variety of inspired, original cocktails. Find them at 340 Kaliste Saloom Road or call 989-4155.

The Blue Moon Saloon invites you to be ballers at the Sinner's Ball bash with performances by Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole and The Mercy Brothers. Both bands are a great balance of representing South Louisiana's music. Blue Moon is like a honky tonk for people freaked out by going to a real dive bar - great choice. Shindig starts at 8:30 p.m.

Jefferson Street Pub in downtown Lafayette has new owners who are throwing a party called The Black & White Affair. For a $10 cover there is midnight champagne, hors d'oeuvres, specialty drinks and DJ Knuckles spinning. Black and white attire is requested but certainly not required. Call 232-5040 for details.
