Bon Repas and Viva la Waffle are Lafayette's two food trucks, so far. Food trucks are all the rage across the country having caught fire in Los Angeles several years ago. Baton Rouge has around a dozen food trucks and have proven very popular.

Both trucks are run by creators with tremendous pedigrees. Food trucks are mobile restaurants fully sanctioned by the health department. Rather than a restaurant having trouble because it's not in a busy location, food trucks certainly solve that problem.

Today, however, the reason and location is special. Viva and Bon Repas have partnered up with Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. Today if you order lunch you recieve a 10% off coupon for the store. The Restore is sort of like Goodwill and Home Depot had a baby - it is full of home goods donated by individuals and by stores that have donated. Plenty of its merchandise is brand new. Everything from doors to cabinets, to paint to tile, to really weird paintings you remember from the 1970's and chandeliers can be found here. Whether you are financially established or just starting out, this is a great place to start.

Check out the ReStore here or call 371-6030.

Check out Bon Repas or Viva la Waffle or just mosey over to Pinhook. The trucks are across the street from the ReStore.
