The Daily Advertiser is reporting that the Greater Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association is now saying it will host the Children's Parade Monday evening:

Association officials intend for both the Children's Parade and the Queen's Parade to roll simultaneously. Both parades will end at Cajun Field, but they will start at different locations.

The Children's Parade will run its normal route, starting at the corner of Lafayette and Vermillion Streets. The Queen's Parade will also run its normal route, starting from Pontiac Point downtown, according to a news release from the association.

Association officials are, however, meeting with the Lafayette Police Department and other parade stakeholders at 8 a.m. on Monday to ensure the new plan will work and to hammer out all of the logistics of the rescheduling.
