Cite des Arts presents a comedy named Rockets and Polar Bearsbeginning this weekend.

Starring Christian LeBlanc, Kyla Cormier, Andre Guillory, Brooke LeBlanc and Terri Bannister, its event page reads, "Where else would you be entertained by the world's largest fungus and a crawfish loving pigeon in one night?" Where, indeed. Cite is located at 109 Vine in downtown Lafayette.

The play is written by New Orleans-based playwright Gabrielle Reisman, the former artistic director of The Alamo Underground and a member of The NOLA Project. She describes Rockets and Polar Bears on her website as "a night of my short plays about talking animals, plants and machines," in other words five comedic one-acts combined into a full-length play. Reisman currently resides in Austin where she is working toward an advanced degree in playwriting.
