Nearly 76 percent of Hub City residents say Lafayette is getting better as a place to live.
The Hub City is a hopeful city. Lafayette ranks second behind Provo, Utah, among the most optimistic metro areas in the United States, according to a new survey released by Gallup.
According to the ranking, 75.8 percent of residents say Lafayette is getting better as a place to live, two tenths of a percentage point by Provo's 76 percent. Following Lafayette in the top five, in descending order, are Raleigh, N.C. (74.9), Huntsville, Ala. (74.3) and Greenville, S.C. (74.2). On the flip side, the least optimistic cities are led by Binghamton, N.Y., followed by Flint, Mich., Rockford, Ill., Youngstown, Ohio, and Syracuse, N.Y.
