Residents who want to help the victims of the flash flooding that occurred Monday in Acadiana have a couple of different options to do so.

Cash donations can be dropped off at the Carencro Community Center, 5115 N. University Ave., in Carencro.
"We definitely could use cash donations to the American Red Cross," LeBlanc says. "We have prepositioned items in place. We follow local authorities and as soon as they alert us to a problem, we put everything in motion.
"That's where donations come in to actually fund things like the fuel for our trucks to go out there and the food and the setups and supplies," St. Blanc.
St. Blanc says Disaster assessment teams are in the damaged areas giving out clean up kits and instructions on cleaning up and sanitizing.
Items such as clothes, and furniture may be donated to The Salvation Army, Goodwill, and CUPS [Community United in Prayer and Service].
"They have manpower that specfially sort out items," she says. "We're focused on sheltering, feeding, recovery and emotional needs and counseling."
Four of the seven parishes in need under the American Red Cross, Acadiana Area Chapter, are St. Landry, Lafayette, Acadia and St. Martin.
