The Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana has released more than a dozen recommendations to encourage greater compliance with the state's ethics laws and to improve the process of enforcing those laws. Among the recommendations by the nonpartisan, good-government group: clarify which entities - the Board of Ethics, the Ethics Adjudicatory Board or state courts - have jurisdiction over various aspects of campaign finance law; giving the Ethics Board the right to appeal decisions rendered by the Adjudicatory Board; changing the rules governing term length and service on the Ethics Board. In all, PAR released 14 recommendations regarding state ethics law.
